Why preschool music?
The fundamental principles in all areas, need to be taught in a very young age. This is why we emphasize the importance of preschool music.
This course, builds the musical education, the rhythmic and acoustic skills for kids and prepares them to learn with greater ease a musical instrument. These are done through:
songs
music from around the world
free expression through music
movement
music stories
arts & crafts.
The course is conducted in a playful way and consists of movement-through-music games that enhance concentration, creativity, collaboration and of course fantasy.
Children learn the basic principles of music and get familiar with music reading and writing. Through this course, they get the chance to collaborate with other kids, to express themselves freely and to create their own sound-stories and present them. They have the chance to touch musical instruments and discover how the sound is produced. Furthermore, they can cultivate their aesthetic perception by drawing music instruments and notes.
Preschool music could be considered as the level before choosing a musical instrument. This is because kids:
can better understand which music instrument suits them, as they come in contact with many different instruments.
can better perceive rhythms and sounds which facilitates the learning of an instrument.
children learn the fundamentals of music theory and get familiar with the stave and the first notes.
Why private preschool music lesson?
There are kids that need some time before being able to trust a new team.
It is understood that most of the times, parents want their kids to socialise and learn how to be part of a team, but no kid should be pressured into doing something that is not comfortable with.
If this is the case, it is better for the kid to start private lessons of preschool music, so that she/he can first trust the teacher before proceeding to join a group.
In any case, this option is discussed between parents and teachers after assessing the situation.
GROUPS:
Our school has different groups for preschool music with lessons being taught in Greek and in English. The age groups are:
2 - 4 year olds.
4 - 6 year olds.
Our school also offers private lessons.
